Hong Kong Island

  • The Peak Tram and The Peak Tower (Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - Take the Peak Tram from the Lower Peak Tram Terminus on Garden Road (MTR Central Station Exit J2)
  • The Golden Bauhinia Square (Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island)
    - MTR Wan Chai Station Exit A5. Follow signs by covered walkway. Take about 15min walk
  • Ocean Park (Aberdeen, Hong Kong Island)
    - Take Bus 629 from MTR Admiralty Station Exit B
  • Hong Kong Park - Nice botanic park (Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - Walking distance from Peak Tram station
    - Admiralty Station Exit C1
  • Man Mo Temple (Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - Man Mo Temple is nearby Hollywood Road
    - MTR Central Station Exit D2 and turn right to Theatre Lane. Walk along Queen's Road Central towards The Center. Then take the Central Mid-Levels Escalator to Hollywood Road
  • Mid-Levels Escalator (Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - MTR Central Station Exit D2 and turn right to Theatre Lane. Walk along Queen's Road Central towards The Center
  • Lan Kwai Fong (Night life at Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - MTR Central Station Exit D2. Walk along Theatre Lane and up D'Aguilar Street, which take around 5 min
  • SoHo (Food district at Central, Hong Kong Island)
    - Reached by Central Mid-Levels escalator
  • Jumbo Kingdom (Aberdeen, Hong Kong Island)
    - Bus 70 from Exchange Square bus terminus (MTR Hong Kong Station Exit D) to Aberdeen terminus. Cross highway via subway (pedestrian tunnel), turn right and walk to dock for free boat ride to floating restaurant; or take bus 75 from Exchange Square bus terminus to Shum Wan Shuttle Ferry Pier for the free boat ride

Kowloon

  • A Symphony of Lights (Laser show at Victoria Harbourfront, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon)
    - Victoria Harbourfront at Tsim Sha Tsui is located next to Clock Tower and Avenue of Stars
    - MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit J, and follow signs to the Avenue of Stars and Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront
  • Avenue of Stars (Along Victoria Harbourfront, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon)
    - Located next to Victoria Harbour front at Tsim Sha Tsui and Clock Tower
    - MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit J, and follow the signs
  • Clock Tower (Along Victoria Harbourfront, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon)
    - Avenue of Stars is just next to Clock Tower, Victoria Harbourfront (walking distance)
    - MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit E, take subway (pedestrian tunnel) next to YMCA, cross Salisbury Road and walk to harbour front
  • Wong Tai Sin Temple (Kowloon)
    - MTR Wong Tai Sin Station Exit B2 or B3. A 3min walk

New Territories

  • Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree (Tai Po, New Territories)
    - MTR Tai Wo Station and take a taxi
  • Hong Kong Wetland Park (Tin Shui Wai, New Territories)
    - MTR Tin Shui Wai Station Exit E, change to Light Rail (705 or 706) and get off at Wetland Park Station
  • Snoopy world (Shatin, New Territories)
    - MTR Shatin Station and look for signboard and direction

Outlying Island

  • Hong Kong Disneyland (Lantau Island, Outlying Island)
    - MTR Disneyland Resort Station
  • Big Budda / Po Lin Monastery (Lantau Island, Outlying Island)
    - MTR Tung Chung Station Exit B and take bus 23 from Tung Chung Town Centre
    - Remember to drop by Citygate Outlets (MTR Tung Chung Station Exit C) for outlet shopping if you have time
  • Ngong Ping 360 (Lantau Island, Outlying Island)
    - MTR Tung Chung Station Exit B and walk 5min to the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal
    - Remember to drop by Citygate Outlets (MTR Tung Chung Station Exit C) for outlet shopping if you have time
  • Cheung Chau Island (Outlying Island)
    - Take a ferry from Central Pier 5 (MTR Hong Kong Station Exit E1. Walk through IFC Mall) in Central. About a 30 to 55min trip depending on the type of ferry
  • Lamma Island (Outlying Island)
    - Take a ferry to Yung Shue Wan or Sok Kwu Wan (about a 30 min trip) from Central Pier 4 (MTR Hong Kong Station Exit E1. Walk through IFC Mall) in Central.
  • Tung Lung Chau Island (Outlying Island)

Ha Pak Nai (下白泥) in Yuen Long (New Territories), partially covered by a wetland, is a popular place for watching sunset. As it's close to Lau Fau Shan (流浮山), which is famous for seafood, it becomes one of the local's favourite places for spending the weekend.

Like making new year's resolution, praying for good luck at popular temples in Hong Kong is a Chinese New Year custom that locals do to wish for a new beginning and everything well in the new lunar year. Join the Well-wishing Festival held at Lam Tsuen Wishing Square during CNY and hope for the best to come in the coming Year of Snake.

Lui Seng Chun (雷生春) is a 4-storey tong-lau at Mong Kok area close to Sham Shui Po, which is also a Grade I Historic Building that was built in 1931. Currently, it's converted to a clinic operated by Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine since April 2012. http://scm.hkbu.edu.hk/lsc/en/index.html
