Recommended Posts

Wanting to give these as gift to a friend who is coming to Singapore.

Have not got reply from HK customs. Any kind souls can help?

1) Can a HK resident be allowed to bring mooncakes (contain pork floss and salted egg) from Singapore back to HK ?

if yes, 2 boxes (8pcs) allowed?

2) Miniature size liquor spirits and/or wine of 50ml a bottle allowed to bring back ? any taxable ?

Thanks everyone :-D

Hi 貓王,

1) HK does not have strict restriction on importing food contained cooked meat and egg products. We are always free to bring any food back to HK.

2) Yes it's allowed to bring free of tax provided the condition meets below:

Free import: for personal use only, for passengers of 18 years or older (holders of Hong Kong Identity Card must have spent 24 hours or longer outside Hong Kong):

  • 19 cigarettes or 1 cigar or 25 grams of other manufactured tobacco
  • no limit for wine and liqour below 30% vol
  • 1 litre of alcoholic liquor above 30% vol

Logically, it counts as you are still outside HK :)
